Macroscopically forming black net-like clusters inside liquid medium or attached to the side of the glass test tube. Filaments very long, more or less entangled, wavy with colorless individual sheaths, 6 um wide. Trichomes without constriction, with small yellowish granules near the cross walls, 4.4-5.2 um wide. Cells mostly with smooth cytoplasm, 6-9 um long, apical cells slightly conical, with thick cell wall (caliptra?), purple-violet by color. Taxonomic note: Resemble to Microcoleus spp. since it is having long filaments and caliptra, however motility has not been observer, neither massive common sheaths. Could belong to the family Coleofacsiculaceae.
