Fir (Abies sachalinensis)-Spruce (Picea ajanensis)-Birch (Betula ermanii) subalpine lighted forest intermingled with gravely barrens fields. The crevices in the gravely barrens, on sides of boulders and on fine-grained soil on the bottom.
